Parts of Mogale still without water as reservoirs recover unevenly

Mogale City has released its latest reservoir levels for the evening of July 22, with the Kagiso system showing signs of recovery while Munsieville and Kenmare continue to experience severe water supply challenges.

Parts of Mogale City remain without water following recent infrastructure maintenance, with some reservoirs recovering steadily while others remain under severe pressure.

On the evening of July 22, Mogale City Local Municipality (MCLM) assistant manager for media and PR Refilwe Mahlangu said the municipality is closely monitoring the situation.

“The Kagiso system is still recovering, and water supply is gradually stabilising as pumping continues into the network. The Kagiso Tower has recovered well, while the Kagiso Reservoir and Extension 13 Reservoir continue to fill,” she said.

“Our technical teams are on site investigating the cause of the slow recovery and are working to restore the affected system,” she added.

  • Kagiso Reservoir: 14%
  • Kagiso Tower: 71%
  • Kenmare Sump: 22%
  • Kenmare Reservoir: 52%

  • Dan Pienaarville Reservoir: 65%
  • Munsieville Reservoir: 0%
