Excited Grade 1’s and nervous parents lined up outside Laerskool Paardekraal’s gate on Wednesday, January 11 for their very first day of big school.

Zodwa Mkwanazi, her husband Thami and their youngest Kayise escorted the new Laerskool Paardekraal Grade 1, Simphile to his first day of school.
Ready for Grade 1 in Laerskool Paardekraal but still a bit unsure, is Vyiswa Phendu.

The learners had to go look for their names on one of the class lists and see if they were in Ms Hulley, Ms De Waal, Ms Blom, or Ms Pieterse’s class. They were then escorted to their classes and appointed seats by their parents before emotional goodbyes.
