The book, titled A Municipal Road Travelled from Munsieville to Port Shepstone to Cape Town, consists of over 650 pages highlighting his experience working in a predominately black community of Munsieville, the relationship dynamic of blacks and whites, his experiences working in the Port Shepstone Municipality in Kwa-Zulu Natal and what the state of the nation is Post Apartheid.

It has a very unique narrative as he not only focuses on just the social issues experienced by the most disadvantaged group of people but how every municipality he has served shares similarities. The role that white South Africans would eventually play is dismantling the system of Apartheid despite their privilege and his message to young South Africans and the role that they can play to take the country forward.

“We have come a long way as a country despite our problems and setbacks, but with every setback comes a solution. I encourage the younger generation to get involved and allow themselves to be heard, you can’t wait for the problem to solve itself or depend on political parties,” said Peter.

Peter hopes that his perspective on his journey will provide solutions for South Africans to make their communities a better place.
