Gauteng Child Sector provides a list of demands to Department of Social Development
Like many non-profit organisations (NPOs) that are outraged over the decision made by the government to reduce funding for their operations, Gauteng Child Sector is beyond shocked with this decision as they plan to hand over a memorandum to the Department of Social Development.

Like many non-profit organisations (NPOs) that are outraged over the decision made by the government to reduce funding for their operations, Gauteng Child Sector is beyond shocked with this decision as they plan to hand over a memorandum to the Department of Social Development.

In the memorandum the Child Sector outlines the issues that will be faced by the NPOs as a result of budget cuts, they include unemployment, salary cuts, and many vulnerable people who need those services provided by the organisations that heavily rely on funding from the government.

The demands in the memorandum are: that NPOs be engaged with the Department of Social Development fairly regarding the process of budget cuts. They also call for this decision to be reversed in seven days and condemn the decision made by the department and plead that funding should not be cut.
