According to Zaeed Williams, who was attending the event, the congregation was organised by the Tablighi Jamaat (Society of Preachers) whose aim is to encourage Muslims to be more religiously observant and encourage Muslims to play a role in making their communities a better place.

Williams added that Ijtema plays a very significant role in the lives of Muslims as it is a demonstration of unity, love, brotherhood, respect, and an opportunity for Muslims to reflect on their Islamic values. It is also important to note that it is not political as it is strictly for religious purposes only.
On the final day, many people were happy with how the event was held as the congregation would be concluded with final prayers.
