Golf day in aid of vulnerable kids

Louw Strydom Incorporated hosts golf day in Krugersdorp to raise funds for vulnerable children.

Louw Strydom Incorporated swapped their suits, ties and legal files for more casual long pants, golf shoes and clubs during a golf day for a good cause held at the Krugersdorp Golf Club on Friday, May 19.

The law firm, which is based in Krugersdorp, also welcomed members of the community to what would be a fun way of assisting children who have no access to therapy or mental health services when they become victims of traumatic experiences.

According to Sarita Viljoen, a paralegal at the firm, while dealing with law cases where children are involved, they have noticed that children are unable to cope because there is nobody around to assist them emotionally after going through a traumatic life experience.

She said children are exposed to many issues from academic and social pressure and family breakdown.

‘We work with social workers from various schools and wanted to donate funds so that children who are going through a difficult time can get as much support as possible,” said Sarita.

The event had many golfers who came to support the cause in hopes of making a difference.

Jordan Gerber said he’s happy to help make a difference. “Being a parent of two I believe it’s wholesome what the firm is doing. Hopefully, others will follow suit.”

The firm will be working with various schools around Krugersdorp such as Monument Primary and Curro Primary among others to assist vulnerable children.
