Roelien Homan, a well-known property professional in town has a life-changing story that is too good not to be shared with the rest of the community. After battling with Covid in 2020, she lost her hearing which affected her professional and personal life.

The 54-year-old is widely respected for her dedication to her work, selfless nature, kind heart and unyielding compassion for others.

Cindy du Plessis, a friend of Roelien, who has known her for seven years, said that she has always had a positive impact on those around her.

She is fearless, loving, kind, compassionate, funny, ambitious, adventurous, and courageous,” said Cindy.

Lately, it hasn’t been easy for her, the absence of functional hearing aids has severely impacted her ability to carry out her professional responsibilities and live a fearless and happy life. The once vibrant and lively individual now finds herself in a state of fear, loneliness and uncertainty.

Cindy, and many others, has already contributed to Roelien’s BackaBuddy crowdfunding campaign and pleads with the community to assist Roelien in getting new hearing aids.

So far, the campaign has raised R45 800, thanks to the generosity of supporters who have rallied behind her cause. However, there is still a significant amount to be raised to reach the target and ensure that she can regain her hearing and return to her normal way of life. The crowdfunding campaign aims to raise R82 760, so she can acquire new hearing aids.
