The book was officially released in Breaunanda on June 3 and the principles and themes of the book are based on the Grip On Life programme at SOS Central in Krugersdorp. SOS Central is a substance support group for dependents and their families and Amanda works as a counsellor at the support group alongside her husband.
I saw a gap in the market of self-help books after realising there were no self-help books for victims of molestation.
“They could not find much guidance to deal with their trauma which led to them getting addicted to drugs as a coping mechanism. I decided to write the book which I hope will guide them step by step,” said Amanda.

It is worth noting that the book is also deeply personal for Amanda as she has also been a victim of child molestation.
She said it is thus important that victims can read the book from an author who can relate to their experience and not feel alone.

“I was molested as a child at three years old. I found the Lord and He has through lots of prayers and Bible Study and counselling lead me on a healing path.”
Amanda concluded that her past is behind her and that is she grateful that God has healed her.
