It has begun … the Arrive Alive campaign is in full swing

MCLM collaborates with various departments to get ready for the festive season.

It’s all systems go as Mogale City Public Safety in collaboration with other law enforcement launched the city’s 2023 Road Safety Festive Season campaign at the Krugersdorp Game Reserve.

The launch was overseen by Gauteng MEC for Community Safety Faith Mazibuko.

According to Mazibuko, it was confirmed that the Community Safety Department is a key partner in Mogale City’s Public Safety initiatives. She added that officers should refrain from using roadblocks as a ‘side hustle’ and reminded all that the Gauteng Provincial Government is going to hold officers who accept bribes accountable.

Mazibuko concluded by prompting all traffic officers and other law enforcement agencies present to apply the required authority to keep the motorists safe during the festive season.

Spearheading the event alongside Community Safety was the executive manager of Community Development Lovey Modiba as well as the municipality’s Public Safety Member of the Mayoral Committee, Francis Makghato. Law enforcement officers are further urged to be on the lookout for any suspicious cars, objects, and individuals.

The highlight of the launch was the arrest of a taxi passenger en route to Magaliesburg, who had an unlicensed firearm. Upon body searching, a firearm with no live ammunition was found in his possession, and he was immediately arrested and handed over to police.

Also, in attendance and presiding over the event was the Krugersdorp Police Station Commander Brigadier Happy Xaba who gave a message of support.
