Wings and Entruevest Holding bring smiles to the abused
The Wings of Inspiration Care Centre in Wentworth Park and a holding company came together for vulnerable women and children.
The festive season is here at last with many families either in the process of putting up decorations or getting into the Christmas spirit. However, for some vulnerable members of the community, this is not the case.
To ensure that not a single vulnerable soul is left behind this festive season, Wings of Inspiration Care Centre in Wentworth Park and the Entruevest Impilo Foundation came together to bring hope.

Firstly, Entruevest, a holding company, through their Impilo Foundation donated a large portion of food parcels at the care centre as a small step to help as many communities as possible on the West Rand. Secondly, it was one of the many steps to bring awareness during 16 Days of Activism and to reach out a helping hand to abused women and children.

Thirdly, Wings of Inspiration is an NGO that is Christian-based and was established in 2016. They have several centres located in various parts of West Rand and offer a variety of services at each centre with the sole purpose of helping the most vulnerable. The Woman and Children Centre in Wentworth Par is one of 10 centres that take in homeless women and children who were either neglected, abused, or traumatised. Currently, the shelter houses more than 110 women and children. The shelter also has a variety of programmes to keep the children productive and sharp.
According to the care centre manager, Heidi Harms, they have an early childhood development centre (ECD) that caters to children from birth to seven years of age.
“We have many activities to keep the children busy ranging from water games, board games, and other sports,” Heidi said.
The centre also provides care for orphans and homeless children who are neglected. Women and children will receive three meals a day, basic toiletries, a warm bed to sleep in, and receive counselling and emotional support.
“We will rehabilitate them back into society so that they can learn to adequately support themselves and their children.”
The collaboration of Wings of Angels and Entruevest Holding is a step in the right direction as Heidi said it allowed them to ensure that such children have something to be hopeful of.

“The women and children who make use of our shelter come from very difficult backgrounds. Our shelter is open to all vulnerable women and children from all walks of life. Whether you are an orphan, whether you were financially abused, physically abused, or emotionally abused we are here to help,” Heidi said.
The other centres on the West Rand consist of an elderly care centre in Randfontein, frail care centres in Helderkruin, Roodepoort, Randgate and Robindale in Randfontein.
