Belly2Brain counts their blessings
After a great year of outreach, Belly2Brain recently announced the opening of their charity shop.
The Cambridge Dictionary defines a ripple effect as a series of events that occur as a result of a particular action or event.
The Belly2Brain Non-Profit Organisation (NPO) is proud to be part of such a ripple effect in the West Rand community – with various outreaches achieved during this calendar year.
Founder of the organisation, Dominique Tibbles, said these outreaches included a sandwich day, handbags of hope, a Bethany House Trust blessing, a ‘Parkie Kerk’, a forgiveness workshop, blessings at a women’s prison, a walk against human trafficking, a blanket drive and a ‘food sock’ programme.
“With all this, we are proud to announce the opening of our Belly2Brain Charity Shop! This wonderful project is the brainchild of one of our volunteers, Jacolene Mentz, where she has fallen in love with our Belly2Brain vision and our community and has made herself available to our family,” Dominique announced.
“People can donate their clutter [not trash] to the charity shop. The community is then able to have purchasing power to purchase wonderful, preloved goodies at a massively reduced price. The proceeds from the sale of the goodies help to fund our outreach as we do not receive any government funding. This way, the community supports the community, that supports the community – a beautiful ripple effect,” she explained.
The shop can be found on 50 Viljoen Street, on the corner of First Street in Krugersdorp.
“We would like to personally thank every individual and company for their love and support during this year. Without your hands and donations, we could not do the Godly work we have been appointed to. We will be ending the year with our last two Appel Park outreaches for 2024 and our Blessing Bags Outreach – gifting 20 kids with Christmas gifts, clothing items and stationery, where each child has been sponsored by a wonderful anonymous donor who will be making their Christmas a special memory,” Dominique concluded.
