WATCH: Bugging around for all the right reasons

Local Beach Buggie Club donated R22 000 to the West Rand Association for Persons with Disabilities (WRAPD).

Every year, the West Rand Beach Buggies (WRBB) open their hearts and wallets to those in need.

Sunday, December 1 was no different as WRBB members went all out having donated R22 000 to the West Rand Association for Persons with Disabilities (WRAPD). Residents could buy tickets to win one of three hampers with prizes worth over R9 000.

WRBB spokesperson Johan Wolmarans said since the start of the organisation in 2020, this was their biggest and most successful to date.

“Not only do we all share a passion for air-cooled cars, but also the obligation to provide where needed. The West Rand Beach Buggies have regular rides and outings where they get together, ride together and just have fun. From doing mud bashings, doughnuts, local restaurants, rides to other towns and even camping weekends. In fact, after the function at WRAPD, we all went for our year-end spitbraai in Muldersdrift,” Johan explained.

“The WRBB would like to thank Sydney Mabaso and all the wonderful people from WRAPD who received us with open arms, and for the wonderful service they provide for our community. Our effort is a small drop in your bucket but will hopefully fill a gap somewhere.

“We also want to thank all the sponsors of the event. Last but not least, thank you to everyone who bought a ticket to make this possible,” Johan concluded.
