Now the organisation has taken a significant step with the assistance of a local construction company, Aurex, through a corporate social responsibility initiative. The organisation will receive laptops as well as educational equipment that will be used to support the children and an after-school programme.
According to Aurex’s CEO Stuart Kent, the donation of equipment is part of the company’s educational corporate social responsibility programme.
“This initiative is aimed at empowering the youth through quality education. The company believes in providing access to dignified learning environments, investing in infrastructure, and resources to unlock children’s potential.
Their commitment extends to uplifting communities, enhancing learning experiences, and ensuring that every child reaches their full potential for a brighter tomorrow.”
The founder of Girls Grow Group, Nthabiseng Nalane, added that this was a small step that can hopefully lead to bigger things in the future.

“The company was generous enough to donate to us 50 desks, eight computers, and two whiteboards that we can use to educate children.”
According to Nthabiseng, the group assists over 110 children in the community with various programmes, including mentorship initiatives that will ensure the girls are engaged with sports and life skills.
”We do one-on-one sessions that help them to be open and take that fear away to ensure they progress without feeling too much pressure,” Nthabiseng said.
