Six-month China programme opens doors for young Mogale entrepreneurs

Young entrepreneurs from Mogale City can gain international exposure, network globally and learn innovation through a six-month exchange programme in China.

Mogale City Local Municipality (MCLM), in partnership with the Chinese Culture and International Education Exchange Centre, has announced a Young Entrepreneur Exchange Programme in China.

According to MCLM communications officer Refilwe Mahlangu, the programme provides a unique opportunity for young entrepreneurs from Mogale to:

• Explore new markets and gain international exposure
• Build lasting global networks
• Learn about innovation and enterprise culture

Programme highlights include:

• Exposure to Chinese innovation and enterprise culture
• Cultural exchange and networking sessions
• Training workshops on entrepreneurship, trade, and the digital economy
• Visits to tech parks, incubators, and manufacturing hubs
• Business-to-business engagements with Chinese entrepreneurs

Eligibility criteria:

• Age 18 to 35 years old
• South African citizen and resident of Mogale City
• Founder or co-founder of a registered business (CIPC)
• Business operating for at least one year
• Demonstrated commitment and clear vision for business growth
• Proficient in English (written and spoken)
• Valid passport with at least six months’ validity beyond program end date
• Willingness to obtain a Chinese visa
• Ability to commit to the full program duration (about six months)

Required documents:

• Completed application form
• Curriculum vitae (CV)
• Certified ID copy
• Proof of residence
• Business plan
• Certified copies of the highest education qualification

Deadline: Applications must be submitted by October 15. Forms can be collected and submitted at the Office of the Mayor, corner of Commissioner and Market Street, Krugersdorp CBD.
