Missing Rikus: Rescue teams still searching
Rescue groups, divers and aerial patrols continue combing the coastline in an urgent bid to locate Rikus Kylander.
Search efforts continue for 18-year-old Rikus Kylander following his disappearance on December 18, after he and his friends went snorkelling in Mozambique.
On January 6, Renegades Search and Rescue spokesperson Dawn Gounden confirmed that co-ordinated searches are ongoing across air, sea, and shoreline areas.

“Aerial searches have been conducted from Black Rock to the South African border by pilot Pierre Conradie, along with additional flights from Ponto do Ouro to Santa Maria and inland areas via a privately rented aeroplane. Sea searches remain ongoing, with divers maintaining vigilance under challenging conditions. Turtle Patrol members are also assisting daily, increasing visibility and awareness along the Kosi Bay coastline,” Gounden said.
