Keep it up, Trevor B

Thabile Mange from Kagiso writes:

Trevor Bongi Boqo’s love for radio is unquestionable.

As Boqo won’t say, “I live for radio”. Trevor B, as he is popularly known, is currently with the community radio station Westside FM and presents the “Love Train” show on Sundays.

Trevor B also passes as a radio analyst, if there is such. He critically listens to different radio stations and expresses his opinion about them. His critical analysis on radio stations has earned him friends and enemies alike. But it’s all in the game.

It is an open secret that the Westside FM presenter wants to break into national radio. As a matter of fact, he has made it public that he wants to be on national radio. That’s very bold of him. No luck yet but he’s keeping the faith.

He was previously with Mogale FM. Like a prodigal son, he since has returned to Westside FM. Since then, he has been making a positive and meaningful contribution to the radio station. As a result, his show has become a must to listen to.

On Sundays Trevor B dishes out beautiful, matured and soothing music – the Sunday afternoon kind of music. He’s also using the radio platform to motivate his listeners by inviting motivational speakers such as Modise Moloi, on his show.

On Mandela Day he invited listeners to join him in helping paint the home of the handicapped kids behind the old police station in Kagiso. The response was rather positive. I hope the helping hand for the home will continue post Mandela Day.

Trevor B has his flaws, like shooting from the hip. But who hasn’t? What I like about him is that he’s using the radio mic to make a difference, and not for fame.

We need more people like him. Keep it up, broer.
