My husband a victim too

M Bosch from Krugersdorp writes:

I read your article about the problems in Sivewright Street and thought I’d write to you about what happened to my husband there three weeks ago.

He dropped off a worker in Kagiso just after 8pm and drove back to Kenmare. At the robot just before the private school, his doors were opened and a gun was held against his head. Six foreigners climbed in and threatened him with his own knife.

He had to drive to a house in Sivewright and was taken inside where he was told to strip to his underwear. They proceeded to beat him up, kick him and jump on him. He managed to stand up and stay upright against a wall.

They took all his stock which he was supposed to deliver the next day, his cellphone, belt, black suede jacket, leatherman, GPS and wallet with cards, which we believe they have cloned.

Then he had to get dressed and they drove to the garage where he had to withdraw R2 000.

Back at the house they demanded all the money, which he gave to them after asking for his cellphone. They then allowed him to leave.

He drove straight to the police station where the constable on duty asked him why he was in that area anyway …

He left without reporting the incident because he could see they were not interested in helping. We have heard of several similar instances recently.
