Why are police not taking this serious?

Danny Hartzer from Noorheuwel writes:

With regard to the article about the Noordheuwel couple that was tied up in their home, I would like to advise that this is not the first incident.

On 11 September the people living across from this couple was robbed in broad daylight. On 18 September these people were robbed, and this morning, 21 September at 4.30am my vehicle was broken into. All three houses are visible from the other and in a row. One person was injured seriously and in hospital.

But still our so-called sector police is “good”. They have not pitched up after my vehicle had been broken into and my security service provider is just as pathetic. When we called them and told them the police would like to speak to the attendee of Friday’s incident, we were advised we are not members so they won’t send out anyone. So in short, they are saying because we are not members they don’t care about what happens to other people in the area.

Since the two previous break-ins, there has been no Sector 4 police vehicles patrolling the area; not even the police are visible. I mean there must be something going on and clearly something needs to be done, especially if it was the third hit in not even three weeks.

Must we start shooting people who enter our yards before the police and sector police start doing something? Yes, we as residents understand that the policing world is busy, but this has to come to an end.
