New archery club on the rise
The club was created to be a fun and relaxed environment where anyone can experience the many challenges and rewards archery has to offer.
On the horizon of Ruimsig a new archery club has dawned.
Gerhard Rautenbach, co-owner of the Archery Africa Bowclub in Hole-In-One Avenue said the newly established club was created to be a fun and relaxed environment where anyone interested in the various aspects of the sport can come and experience the many challenges and rewards archery has to offer.
“Archery Africa Bowclub is a club organised for the benefit of our community as well as for our members that want to learn more about the facilities needed for shooting events, to promote the art of archery, and to improve their skills in the sport of bow hunting.”
He said when people join the archery club they will be assisted with obtaining the appropriate bow and gear for the form of the sport they wish to take part in.
There are different bows on the market to suit everyone’s needs. The amount of money members spend depend on the level at which they participate, for example competing at a more professional level will be more expensive.
“Because the world of archery offers so many choices, it really depends on where our members want to go.”
Gerhard further said they give those who want to join an opportunity to try out the different bows and forms of the sport first before they make a final decision about whether the sport is for them.

“Joining an archery club is a great way to improve your skills as knowledge and expertise are shared among members,” Gerhard said.
“It is also a great way to make new friends and a great place to check out the new equipment other archers use.”
He said members can apply their newly acquired skills and knowledge at competitions, which are held on a regular basis.
Club member Luigi Ragni who will be taking part in a national competition soon said he joined the club because of the different options available and especially because the club is open throughout the week for practice on the range.
