St Ursula’s hosts annual interhouse swim gala

On Friday, 18 January St Ursula's hosted their annual swim gala and all three their houses competed in friendly spirit.

The Laurus house, Bercia house and Merici house have been the foundation at St Ursula’s School for the past 115 years.

On 18 January these houses went head to head in their annual swim gala.

The gala has been a long-standing tradition and the school rallies their houses to support the competing swimmers.

Andrea Da Silva said there is magic when the whole school comes together.

This was evident as learners sang together, wearing bright yellow, blue and red clothing to represent their respective houses.

The swimmers from pre-primary, primary and high school all competed against each other to gain points for their respective houses.

Although some of them have a lot of talent, this was just a friendly competition between the houses and every learner who wanted to participate had a chance.

Those who struggled were allowed to rest and the teachers even swam with the ones who were afraid.

This year Laurus walked away with the trophy.
