Krugersdorp Bowling Club on a roll

From hosting referees and teaching them the game of bowls to bagging gold at the first Sables tourney of 2024, KBC is on a roll.

Krugersdorp Bowling Club (KBC) has started the 2024 season just as they ended it last year – on a high note.

This after their players fought hard on the greens for glory at the first Sables competition of the year, the Men’s and Ladies Pairs Tournament held recently.

Flying the KBC flag high was the two KBC men’s combinations of Stitch Economakis and Wilson Malobolo together with Andy Selsby and Graeme Morton. Not only did both combinations manage to reach the semi-finals but Stitch and Wilson went on to win gold while Andy and Graeme bagged bronze.

“What a way to start the year. It’s always nice to win medals and well done to both combinations who fought hard for glory,” said KBC spokesperson David Parker.

Also, KBC recently hosted a group of referees who decided to play a game of bowls.

According to David, the referees attended a Golden Lions Rugby Referees’ Society workshop held at Laerskool Kenmare prior and decided to blow off some steam on the green.

“It is a sport much slower than what they are used to but all 85 players had a great time and fun,” David concluded.
