Synergy’s fantastic four off to Mozambique

Four girls of Synergy Worx Dance Studio in Monument will represent South Africa and Krugersdorp overseas soon.

Several young dancers of Synergy Worx Dance Studio will be going overseas soon to compete against the best of the best at the Galaxy of the Ocean Dance competition to be held on the Portuguese Island of Mozambique.

According to the studio director and one of the coaches, Natasha Rizzo, the four girls from the studio received their Protea and national colours, which came through hard work.

”Dancers had to complete trials, provincials and nationals, to qualify for internationals. It’s the most prestigious round of the competition year. The girls had to compete for an entire year to qualify. They already started new routines in 2024 in preparation for this competition. Each round, they have a different dance they learned,” Natasha explained.

She added the dancers will be competing in various categories and styles such as belly dancing, Hip Hop, contemporary and lyrical dance.

“The dancers will receive their International Federation colours should they succeed, and there are also overall awards trophies to be awarded to the highest-scoring dancers.

”It’s an honour to compete overseas among the most elite dancers this year and even more so to qualify for international colours. Our dancers range from eight years to 14 years old, and if they do well, there will be bragging rights across the board. It assists dancers to get sponsorship for future competitions and opens doors with their accolades should they wish to pursue dance as a career when they get older,” Natasha concluded proudly.
