Former MotoGP 2 racer and Krugersdorp native Darryn Binder is gearing up to compete in MotoAmerica’s Supersport programme for the 2026 season.
Binder has joined the Celtic/ Economy Lube + Tire By Warhorse HSBK Ducati team and will race on the Ducati Panigale V2, a bike with a proven track record from last season.
MotoAmerica’s official website https://www.motoamerica.com/ notes that Binder comes with extensive experience from competing in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, as well as in Moto3 and Moto2 championships.
He will also join fellow South Africans Mathew Scholtz, Cam Petersen and Dominic Doyle in the MotoAmerica paddock, forming a strong “Saffa Squad” in the US.

“I’m excited to start this new chapter with my team,” Binder said.
“My journey through Moto3, Moto2, and MotoGP has taught me a lot, and I feel ready to bring that experience into MotoAmerica. The Panigale V2 has proven speed and championship history, and I can’t wait to get to work. The goal is simple: Race at the front, enjoy the battle, and build something strong for the future. I’m grateful for the opportunity and fully motivated for the season,” he added.
The 2026 Motovation Supersport Championship kicks off on Thursday, March 5, at the Daytona International Speedway. Binder and his team aim to compete for wins, podiums, and ultimately the championship across 10 rounds and 19 races.
