Khosa Road Runners celebrate strong Comrades showing
Eleven finishers. One brutal Up Run. Khosa Road Runners celebrated standout performances, milestone medals and the rewards of months of preparation at the Comrades Marathon.
Khosa Road Runners are celebrating a successful 2026 Comrades Marathon after 11 club athletes crossed the finish line of the demanding Up Run from Durban to Pietermaritzburg.
Widely regarded as one of the world’s toughest ultramarathons, the Comrades Marathon once again tested runners with its relentless climbs and challenging conditions.

For the club, the achievement reflects months of preparation, dedication and sacrifice. Completing the race remains a significant milestone for any distance runner, and all 11 Khosa athletes rose to the challenge.

Among the standout performances was Edward Siribana, who was the first Khosa male athlete home in a time of 7:59:55.
Ntsebeng Letuma was the first Khosa woman to finish, crossing the line in 10:38:04. She improved on her previous Comrades time by about 70 minutes and earned a Back-to-Back medal, awarded to runners who complete their first two Comrades Marathons in consecutive years.

Neil Campbell also received a Back-to-Back medal, while Chris Huysamen achieved a major milestone by earning his Green Number after completing his 10th Comrades Marathon.
Reflecting on the club’s performance, vice-chairperson and social portfolio lead Suellen Prinsloo said the success was about more than results.
“What we saw this year was pure commitment and heart. Every runner who toed the line carried months of sacrifice with them, and to see 11 finishers come home is something truly special for our club. The Comrades Marathon is never just about the individual; it’s about the collective spirit, and Khosa showed that in abundance.”
The club is already looking ahead to next year’s historic 100th running of the Comrades Marathon and hopes to build on this year’s achievements.
The 2026 race will be remembered by Khosa Road Runners for its determination, personal milestones and collective pride, with athletes ranging from relatively new Comrades runners to seasoned veterans contributing to the club’s success.
