KHS athlete earns provincial selection for SASA Championships

After an outstanding hurdles season, Tlotlo Modise will compete among South Africa’s top school athletes at the SASA Championships.

Krugersdorp High School (KHS) continues to showcase its athletic talent, with one of its learners selected to compete at the South African Schools Athletics (SASA) Championships.

Tlotlo Modise will represent both Gauteng and KHS at the event, set to take place at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium from April 9 to 11.

According to KHS head of marketing Lauren Coetsee, Tlotlo has enjoyed an exceptional season, competing primarily in hurdles events. He also qualified for the 100m, finishing second, and claimed first place in the 300m hurdles at the D2 Championships.

At the Gauteng Championships, he placed fifth in the 100m and secured third in the 300m hurdles, earning qualification for the SASA Championships.

Last year, Tlotlo was among the school’s athletes who competed at both the Wildeklawer Tshwane University of Technology Top 14 and the Nories Top 15 athletics meetings.

The SASA Championships bring together elite school athletes who have qualified through their respective provincial championships, including Gauteng, Limpopo and Mpumalanga.
