Plasies se bergfietsryers sit eerste XCO in sakkie

Drie van Hoërskool Merensky se bergfietsryers het op Saterdag, 20 Februarie aan die Limpopo Provinsiale XCO No.

1 (Waterberg) by Summerplace Farm Stay in Vaalwater deelgeneem.

‘n XCO-wedren is ‘n “cross country olympic” met ongeveer 5km rondes vir sub-juniors-, jeug- en junior-ryers.

In die Youth Boys-afdeling het André van Deventer ‘n sesde plek en Kaleb Paul ‘n dertiende plek behaal. Hulle het vier rondes afgelê.

Onder die Youth Girls het Anke Rood, in drie rondes, ook ‘n sesde plek ingepalm.

Hierdie eerste vir 2021 het plaasgevind op ‘n baie harde en tegniese baan.

Die SA XCO Cup #1 en UCI Junior World Series #3 sal volgende naweek op Saterdag 6 Maart by die Waterberg Trails in Vaalwater beklink word.
