Unknown man allegedly killed after alleged attempted robbery

Police in Giyani are investigating a case of murder following the death of an unknown man in Giyani CBD on Monday, September 12.

This comes after a man was allegedly beaten to death for attempting to rob a woman after she withdrew money at an ATM. “A woman cried for help and community members went to assist her.

While she was explaining what has happened, she noticed one of the suspects who was with the people who attempted to rob her,” said Const Rigdewell Rikhotso, spokesperson of the police in Giyani. She allegedly pointed him out to the community members. They then chased him and allegedly grabbed and assaulted him with various objects, and left him in a pool of blood.

The police were summoned to the scene and they found the lifeless body of an unknown man aged between 25-35. The man was wearing a white T-shirt and a pair of brown short pants.
