Tzaneen Fashion Week around the corner

Tzaneen's inaugural Fashion Week takes place Dec 14 at Mercurius Mercedes Benz, featuring 17 designers, fashion shows, and expert-led masterclasses.

TZANEEN – Fashion enthusiasts in Tzaneen can look forward to the inaugural Tzaneen Fashion Week.

The event will take place on Saturday December 14 at the Mercurius Mercedes Benz showroom.

The event is poised to establish Tzaneen as the fashion capital of Limpopo and is a collaborative effort between Red Modelling Agency and Red Promotions.

“The idea of starting a fashion show emerged after conducting research with over 300 local residents, including fashionistas, influencers, and designers, to understand the interest of residents in fashion in Tzaneen,” explained Thabang Mabale, the regional coordinator of the show.

“Our findings highlighted a significant need for a fashion event. Although we have talented designers locally, they lack a platform to showcase their work on a larger scale. Additionally, most local models are more familiar with pageantry than high-end modelling. Therefore, we decided to initiate this show to highlight the province’s fashion talents.”

The event will feature 17 designers from across Limpopo, including Emmanuel Masiakwala of Emmanuel Siyester, Kgaugelo Sedutla of Mosat M. Clothing, Kamogelo Rapeulwana of Lebeko’s Crochet Designs, and Lebogang Magoro of Maplerose Couture.

In addition to the fashion shows, a fashion masterclass will be conducted, featuring four distinguished speakers: Masefako Malatji, a stylist who will discuss the future of fashion in Limpopo; Emmanuel Siyester, who will provide insights on what designers seek in models; and Dorlen Makumbila from Absa on business support and funding.

The masterclass will be facilitated by internationally acclaimed model Obakeng.

Tickets are available at Computicket outlets such as Checkers, Shoprite, and Usave, priced at R100 in advance, R120 at the venue, and R250 for VIP access.

For more information, contact Thabang Mabale at 073 097 6764 or 084 256 2442. The event will run from 10:00 to 18:00.
