Fire damages Lowveld Academy offices

A fire destroyed the admin block at Hoedspruit's Lowveld Academy, but swift action from first responders prevented further damage. Classes remain unaffected.

HOEDSPRUIT – Lowveld Academy experienced a devastating incident this evening (Tuesday, July 1) when a fire broke out and destroyed the school’s administration offices.

Tilana Harding, speaking on behalf of the school, says that they are deeply thankful for the swift and courageous response from Town Watch, the HDS Fire Brigade, and all first responders.

“Thanks to their heroic efforts, the damage was contained to our administration block, and all classrooms and other facilities were spared. This incident has once again reminded us of the incredible strength and unity of our community. The outpouring of support we’ve received so quickly after this loss is a powerful testament to the spirit that makes our town so special.”

She adds that they remain committed to providing the highest standard of education for their students upon their return and are confident in their ability to continue doing so without interruption.

“To our students: please rest assured that all will be okay. We are here for you, and we will move forward, stronger than ever, to strive for excellence. Thank you once again for your support,” concludes Harding.
