Runners getting ready for the Youth Challenge race

Good news for runners is that the Youth Challenge and Paint Pot Mile will take place on Saturday, 19 June at Nkowankowa Stadium.

The event last took place in 2019. The event was cancelled last year due to the Covid-19 regulations.

This year’s affair will comprise of a 15km road race, 5km fun run and the 1.6km Paint Pot Mile.

Starting time for the 15km and 5km races will be 06:00 and the 1.6km will take place at 09:00.

The first 200 people that register will get a free T-shirt.

There are great prizes for the winners in both the 15km and 1.6km races.

No prizes will be awarded for the fun run.

There will furthermore be R3000 in cash prizes for clubs, organisations or groups that enroll the most participants.

The organisation with the most runners will get R1500, R1000 for second position and R500 for third position.

In order for any institution to stand a chance to win these prizes, participants must indicate which organisation they are from under the club category on the registration form.

This is not limited to only sports clubs, even churches or other organisations can compete for the prizes.

The registration fee for the 15km is R150, R50 for both the 5km and 1.6km races and R30 for the temporary license.
