Get ready for race day: Baby Elephant 4-in-1 returns

The Baby Elephant is one of the old running events that was hosted by Phalaborwa Road Running Club and the event is set to make a comeback.

The Baby Elephant 4-in-1 road running race is back and will take place on April 20. The race starts at the Phalaborwa Road Running Clubhouse in the Foskor carpark in Phalaborwa. The route continues towards the Police station and turns left towards Foskor mine. The 5km and 10km routes turns on Foskor Road and the 21.1km and 32km will proceed towards Lepelle Waterboard.

The 32km will go up to Foskor Viewpoint and then rejoin the 21.1km route. Both 21.1km and 32km will turn and again at Foskor Viewpoint 32km will go up again before rejoining 21.1km route as both races run back to Phalaborwa Road Running Clubhouse. The 32km, 21.1km and 10km races will start at 07:00 and the 5km will start at 09:00.

Online entries can be done on www.peaktiming. co.za and close on April 18. Entries cost R200 for the 32km, R150 for the 21.1km, R100 for the 10km and R50 for the 5km. Temporary licenses cost R50 and a R50 charge is added for late entries.

Race numbers can be collected at the Phalaborwa Road Runners Clubhouse on 19 April from 15:00 to 17:00 and on race day from 05:30. Medals will be awarded to all finishers within the cut-off times.
