Maruleng Celtics FC appoint new coach

Maruleng Celtics FC appoints experienced coach Fire Mashele, aiming to boost team's ABC Motsepe League standings from 10th place.

LIMPOPO – Maruleng Celtics FC has appointed Fire Mashele, the founder of Fire Football Academy, as their new coach.

Mashele brings 23 years of coaching experience, having previously been a player himself.

He has worked with numerous football academies, including the Orlando Pirates development team, and other teams like Bakwena Chiefs, Mlambo Royal Am, Acornhoek United, and the University of Pretoria (AmaTuks).

Mashele’s passion for soccer has driven his long career in the sport. He has also worked with notable soccer stars such as Mandla Zwane, Shoes Moshoeu, and Kenny Lemark.

He expressed his excitement and honour at joining Maruleng Celtics FC, recognising the team’s potential and the talent of its players.

Although he only obtained his coaching licence in 2013, with both an introductory and level 1 licence, Mashele is determined to advance the team.

Currently, Maruleng Celtics FC is tenth in the league standings of the ABC Motsepe League, but Mashele aims to improve their position significantly.

Despite being eight points behind the top team, he remains optimistic about their chances.

“We are reviewing our past mistakes and strategising for improvement,” Mashele told the Herald. “I aim to propel the team to second place by the end of the season, and if possible, to first place.”

His dedication to the team’s success reflects his commitment to turning their season around.
