Mopani SAPS golfer sinks the winning putt

Captain Charlotte Tshuketana won the women’s division of the Provincial Golf Challenge at UniLim, showcasing her golfing talent.

LIMPOPO – Captain Charlotte Tshuketana has once again proven her dominance in golf by winning the female division of the Provincial Golf Challenge held recently at the University of Limpopo (UL) in Mankweng.

Tshuketana, who serves in the Mopani SAPS Cluster in Giyani, outshone her competitors, including colleagues from various SAPS branches and golfers from UL.

The event was part of the Provincial Sports Day, where government departments competed in different sporting codes.

She secured victory with an impressive 109 points, cementing her reputation as a formidable golfer.

Speaking to the Herald, she expressed her excitement over the win and confirmed that she is already preparing for the next provincial competition in April in Bela-Bela. Tshuketana’s success in the sport is well-documented. In 2023, she played a key role in helping her team, Sirdicks, win the B-Division at the SAPS National Police Golf Tournament in Polokwane. She made history in 2018 as the only female player in the SAPS Limpopo Golf Team to compete at a national event in the Northern Cape.

Over the years, she has represented the SAPS in four national competitions and continues to inspire fellow officers. Beyond SAPS tournaments, Tshuketana has competed as an individual player in various events and encourages more women to take up the sport.

She extended her gratitude to her husband and two daughters for their unwavering support, saying their encouragement allows her to pursue her passion and compete at the highest level.
