Letaba riders shine at Limpopo endurance championships
Riders from across Limpopo tested stamina and skill at the Endurance Championships, with Letaba riders excelling across categories.
HOEDSPRUIT – The Letaba Endurance Club hosted a memorable edition of the Limpopo Endurance Championships this past weekend at The Ranch Prestige Equestrian Centre, a venue renowned for its world-class facilities and breathtaking natural surroundings.
The event drew riders from across the province, all eager to test their stamina, horsemanship, and the unbreakable bond between horse and rider.
The carefully designed routes offered a mix of diverse terrain, challenging hills, flowing tracks, and open stretches, pushing competitors to their limits while showcasing the beauty of endurance riding. Each stride was a testament to preparation, perseverance, and the spirit of partnership that defines the sport.
The championships delivered outstanding performances by Letaba Endurance Club riders across multiple categories:
80km child rider: First place Marleon Horring on Gabbar.
80km young rider: First place Juan van Tonder on Lormar Fire Lady.
80km lightweight rider: First place Michelle Oosthuizen on Telize Shanuk.
80km Standard weight rider: First place Anandré Genis on SMP Johnny Cash.
80km heavyweight rider: First place Elrisa Brits on Ratswolf Rembrandt.

Jessica Osmers said that the success of the event was made possible through the support of generous sponsors, including Epol, Western Shoppe, Miami Canners, Design@Eden, Roof & Liner Pro, Mira Fontein Farming, and Proformance Veterinary Physiotherapy.
Osmers highlighted that the championships were not just about competition, but about celebrating the resilience of both horse and rider.
“This was a true showcase of endurance riding in Limpopo – where skill, stamina, and partnership meet,” she added.
With strong performances, a festive atmosphere, and the prestige of The Ranch Resort as a host venue, the 2025 Limpopo Endurance Championships left no doubt that endurance riding in the province continues to grow from strength to strength.
