Nothing wrong with ‘visibility’

A police vehicle, with two male occupants, were seen at the house in Meyer Street from where prostitutes conduct their business.

The men never got out of their vehicle and spent about 20 minutes in front of the house.

Upon enquiry captain Khanyisile Zwane said that police visibility is of high importance.

“There is no restriction as to where a police vehicle should be seen, provided it is not committing an offence. It is not wrong for two male members to be speaking to females, regardless of where they stay.

“We cannot question each and every police vehicle’s movement, unless there is a complaint about such a vehicle and the complaint is in writing.”

Capt. Zwane urged the community to mail complaints, concerns, compliments and suggestions to her personally at middelburg.corpcomm@saps.gov.za.
