Two arrested for drugs

Two men from Mhluzi were arrested on Tuesday, one for possession and the other for dealing in drugs.

Kgopotso Phokoane (30) known as “Rasta”, following a tip-off, was arrested at his home in Extension 3 when police allegedly found heroïn in a pill container and three other “balls”. Mr Phokoane was charged with dealing in drugs.

Police were driving in Extension 1 during an operation when suddenly a group of men ran away when the police vehicle approached.

The police chased them and arrested Happy Thugwane (32) allegedly with 11 pinches of heroïn. He was arrested and charged with possession of drugs.

Both men appeared in court on Wednesday.

“Mhluzi police are serious about the fight on drugs in the community. The police is working very hard to get rid of the drugs on the streets,” said Sgt Nelisiwe Masemola.
