Nyaope ‘factory’ busted

Hendrina police busted what seems like a makeshift nyaope factory during an operation in Kwazamokuhle.

According to W.O. David Mbenekazi, Hendrina police spokesperson, officers noticed a board under a bed in a shack they were searching.

Upon closer inspection they discovered that the board covered a hole in the ground, dug directly underneath the bed. Antiretroviral medicine and cannabis (dagga) kept in clear plastic bags were discovered in the hole.

Altogether 30 containers of ARV’s and 25 matchboxes filled with cannabis were found. It is suspected that the drugs were being used to make nyaope which was then sold in Kwazamokuhle.
