Possible political involvement in murder

Information from a trusted source says that there are clues pointing to a possible political involvement in the murder of a man hitchhiking from Belfast to his home in Bethal.

He was killed in cold blood.

Captain Khanyisile Zwane, police spokesperson, said that a relative of the deceased, King Mahlangu (44), was talking to him over the phone whilst he was standing near Black Wattle Mine on the Bethal road, at a popular hitchhiking spot.

The phone call was cut after the relative heard gunshots in the background. When he phoned Mr Mahlangu a second time, a different man answered and told the relative that the phone belongs to him now and that he must not bother him further as he was going on a drinking spree.

Mr Mahlangu’s relative called the Middelburg Police for assistance. Upon their arrival at the scene, police found the body of Mr Mahlangu, with gunshot wounds to the face and chest. He was declared dead at the scene.
