Caregiver assassinated in Nasaret

Speculation is rife that the assassination is connected to her involvement with the Nasaret District Taxi Association...

On of the most loved community members in Nasaret was shot twice in the head in an apparent assassination on Wednesday afternoon in Caledon Street.

Emily Clements was pronounced dead at the scene – right on the doorstep of the Rosebuds Club Service Centre – a non-profit organisation where Emily dedicated her life to caring for the elderly.

Speculation is rife that the assassination is connected to her involvement with the Nasaret District Taxi Association, following a recent split in the association and a confrontation between the two associations before her death.

Two men waited for her outside the centre, and as soon as she arrived they opened the door of the car and shot her twice, before fleeing towards the N11 Hendrina road.

Emily was loved in the community, particularly because she was so passionate about community development and taking care of the elderly.
