‘Homeless’ man beaten, thrown off bridge

The body of an elderly man, believed to be either of Pakistani or Indian origin, was found on the railway line near Towers Motel on the old Belfast road outside Middelburg.

It appears that the man was homeless, and was severely beaten or thrown off a bridge, due to the nature of his injuries.
He suffered multiple broken bones and his neck was also broken.

A passerby came across the body and alerted the police. The body was also decomposing which suggests the man died at least two or three days before he was discovered.
The man is still unidentified and his body is being held at the mortuary at the provincial hospital.
