Substance allegedly used to drug children

Reports of incidents where strangers are attempting to take children are on the increase.

A mother warned others to be vigilant when she told of her strange ordeal whilst visiting Pick ’n Pay in the Middelburg Mall today.

She said that an unknown lady approached her child, who was sitting in a trolley.

The woman wiped her hand over her child’s nose before walking off. A few minutes later the lady returned, this time calmly lifting the child from the trolley whilst the mother was busy with shopping.

The mother spotted the woman and ordered her to leave her child alone. The lady casually walked away and disappeared.

“When I returned home, my helper told me that they wipe a substance on the child’s nose to make them drowsy,” the mother said.

When she returned to her vehicle, she noticed two unknown men interacting with her child. Another woman was standing on the other side of the car.

When the mother confronted the two men, they claimed that she hit their car with her door when she got out of her vehicle.

Not the first time a substance is mentioned

Two previous victims of crime in the Middelburg Mall have claimed that they were drugged.

Both victims were female.

They both told more or less the same story, of being approached by strange women who kept on touching them and talking to them.

Both handed over their valuables to the women without protesting.
