(Warning Graphic Content) – Mob set man alight

An alleged cellphone thief was seriously injured after he was assaulted and set alight by an angry mob in Hendrina, Kwazamokuhle.

It is alleged that the victim stole a Samsung cellphone and sold it to someone in the area.

The angry mob confronted the man and demanded the cellphone, he however denied stealing the phone.

Lucky Motha, the victim, was pointed out by the cellphone buyer as the person from whom he bought the Samsung cellphone from for R200.

The furious mob started assaulting the victim, pour petrol over him and set him alight.

Police arrived on the scene and arrested two of the mob leaders, Albert Bhilla and June Nkambule.

Motha is still recovering in hospital.
