Accused of raping girl (7)

A 24 year-old man from Avalon appeared in the Middelburg Magistrates Court on a charge of rape.

The man, who cannot be named before he pleaded to the charge against him, is said to have raped a seven year-old girl in April last year.

He has been released on R500 bail and will appear in court again in March for a Regional Court decision.
