Cancer survivor’s ‘suicide’ ruled a brutal murder – husband arrested

An apparent suicide of a three-time cancer survivor has been ruled as murder, resulting in the arrest of the deceased’s husband.

Rose Henry, mother of Nisha Wentzel (34), claims that the scene where her daughter’s body was discovered on 18 November, was carefully constructed.

Nisha’s husband, Shane, called on the help of a neighbour after he allegedly suspected that something was wrong when returning home from a friend.

Nisha was discovered lying on her bed with pills scattered around her. She was declared dead at the scene in what seemed to be a suicide.

Postmortem results indicated that Nisha’s life ended in a much more violent way. She had a cracked skull, broken ribs and strangulation marks around her neck.

Shane was arrested a week ago and charged with murder.

Rose claims that, when her daughter’s body was washed before her funeral, they discovered that she was covered with a strange substance.

“It looked like a mixture of shoe polish and concealer. As it was washed off you could see all these bruises on her legs and body. I got out my cellphone and took photos of all the marks on Nisha’s body,” said Rose.

Rose told of how her daughter had survived cancer three times.

“She wanted to live! I knew she did not commit suicide. She would never have given up on life. Not after all that she had been through.”
