A widow who resides in Gholfsig, has voiced a complaint against Eskom, after damaging her car in a ditch left by contractors

A widow who resides in Gholfsig, has voiced a complaint against Eskom, after damaging her car in a ditch left by contractors.

Rienie Runsey, stated that the men from Eskom were working on a transformer outside her property.

They had to dig a ditch in her driveway, to replace electrical cables.

After completing their work, they refilled the ditch, but neglected to return the paving bricks from her driveway, to their original position

Mrs Runsey stated that, after pointing out the hole in her driveway, the men casually informed her that “it would be fine” and left the scene.

The following day, when Mrs. Runsey had to leave home, her Mazda 3 got caught on the curb, and the bottom of her vehicle was scraped away.

www.mobserver.co.za has opened a case with Eskom, who have promised to look into the matter and have the ditch repaired.

A claim can be issued for the damages that were done to the vehicle but the incident needs to be investigated first.
