Update: 11 seriously injured, one dead in N4 crash
The accident that took place on the N4 between the Woestalleen offramp and Middelburg Dam yesterday evening at around 22:30 has claimed one life.
A truck and a light motor vehicle were involved in a head-on collision and eleven other people were injured.
It was believed that one of the two vehicles was pulling a trailer with fruit, which was scattered over the scene.
The N4 eastbound had to be closed for two and a half hours last night.
The deceased has not yet been identified.
Three women and eight men were passengers on the bakkie, which collided head on with the truck. The truck driver wasn’t injured and says the bakkie veered into his lane from the opposite side.
The driver of the bakkie was killed upon impact.
