Polyoak Packaging and Laerskool CR Swart learners join forces for Middelburg clean-up

Polyoak Packaging’s Middelburg team recently completed their 12th annual Clean-Up Day alongside learners from Laerskool CR Swart’s Land Service group.
Employees, families, and learners spent the day collecting litter in the Columbus industrial area to restore the surroundings.
The initiative aimed to encourage community participation in local environmental care.
Environmental awareness
The event provided learners with practical outdoor experience in environmental conservation while promoting teamwork.
National programme
The Middelburg project forms part of Polyoak’s national Clean-Up Programme, launched in 2014. Each year, employees and their families across South Africa clean up areas surrounding company operations.
In Middelburg, efforts focus on the industrial zone near Columbus to support local businesses, workers, and residents.
The company manufactures recyclable rigid plastic packaging for the food, beverage, personal care, and industrial sectors, with an emphasis on waste management.
Organisers expressed appreciation to the Laerskool CR Swart Land Service team for participating in the 12th annual event.
