Woman airlifted to hospital after accident

Eight people were seriously injured when the taxi they were travelling in overturned on Monday. 

The incident occurred on the N11 about 25km from Middelburg around 03:30.

All the injured passengers were initially transported to the Middelburg Provincial Hospital for medical assistance.

Shortly after 15:00 one of the patients, a woman, was airlifted to the Lenmed Ahmed Kathrada Hospital in Lenasia.
Another patient, a man, was transported by ambulance to the same hospital later that day.

The other six passengers are still receiving medical treatment at the Middelburg Provincial Hospital.
