Truck catches fire at fuel depot

Fire fighters battled a blaze in the industrial area after a fuel truck caught fire at a depot early on Sunday morning.

The truck was busy loading fuel at a depot in October Street when it was rapidly engulfed in flames.

According to first respondents at the scene, a security guard was taken to hospital after sustaining burn injuries.

The Middelburg Fire Department managed to contain the blaze and the scene was soon declared safe.
