Six killed and several injured in weekend crashes

Six people were killed and four severely injured in two separate accidents that occurred over the weekend.

Three people, including a baby, were declared dead on the scene after a head/rear collision took place on the N4 between Belfast and Wonderfontein at around 14:00 on Saturday.

The collision involved two light delivery vehicles and the deceased were passengers in one of the vehicles.

The driver and one passenger was severely injured and rushed to hospital in critical condition.

Another accident also occurred on Saturday killing another three people.

The accident occurred on the R50 between Bapsfontein and Delmas when an SUV and Sedan collided head on.

The driver and two passengers from the sedan were all killed on impact and two more people sustained serious injuries.
